The Grahn 400 Project Unveils Website for "Another 400 of the World's People"

The Grahn 400 Project ("G400P"), a non-commercial and non-charitable effort that aims to give people in developed countries the opportunity to reflect on all the things that have but take for granted, today launched its website (www.grahn400.com).Parodying the Forbes 400 annual list of the world's wealthiest people, the G400P will -- in time, and with the support of contributors -- feature up-close profiles of people everywhere that lack food, health care, proper shelter, or basic political and religious freedoms, for example. In other words, "another 400 of the world's people," as the website proclaims. The G400P is the creation of Charlie Grahn. "It occurred to me last year," he explains, "that many who are likely in the top few percentiles of people everywhere in terms of wealth, are also those that are least satisfied with their lives. The more I thought about it the more I became convinced that the reason was because they lacked perspective."Grahn explains how after traveling to developing countries in Africa and Asia he returned feeling "immense gratitude for everything," but how that he soon found himself "coveting those 60-inch flat-screen televisions and strategizing ways to pay for one." He created the G400P to help people gain an appreciation for everything they have without the cost, hassles or dangers of traveling. "I hope people will contribute profiles, and I hope people will feel better about their lives after visiting the site," he explains..

Do you remember the way your teachers tried to teach you how to multiply two mixed fractions such as 4 ? x 1 ?? I'll be there on commercial. Huh, what did you say? Oh, I forgot because I got hooked on this show. And, do I have to? I was right in the middle of the good part!"It all began on February 9, 2004 when my friend and I attended an all-day Women's Bible Study. At one of the workshops, the speaker discussed...
